As we are in the middle of Women in Construction Week, we would like to present to you one of the many women who inspire us at Toromont. Nancy Ambtman, a Toromont Cat pioneer, is the new Vice President for the Capital Region. An accomplished leader, she has remained loyal to Toromont and made her mark through her hard work, perseverance, and dedication.
Thanks to her great skills in negotiation, operations management, team building, continuous improvement, and data analysis, Nancy has demonstrated that women can truly achieve greatness in spite of working in a predominantly masculine industry. As she puts it: " I pride myself on being someone who gets things done!’’
But before she became Vice President of the Capital Region, Nancy started her journey at Toromont almost 24 years ago, right after graduating with Honors with a bachelors’ degree in Business from Wilfrid Laurier University. She joined Toromont Cat as a Management Trainee and worked at Power Systems for 14 years in various positions. Since 2007, she has taken on many roles in management including Branch Manager of Concord branch from 2020 to 2023.
Nancy is happily married, and the proud mother of two teenagers. She is an avid traveler and loves going on adventures to explore the world and experience new places, foods and cultures.
We are proud to have Nancy as the Vice President of the Capital region. She has become a role model for women in the heavy equipment industry. She is living proof that women can thrive in any industry, so long as they have the passion and drive to overcome the challenges in their professional journey.
