That caught the attention of Excavation Pierre Daoust last year when they were looking to add a new machine to their hardworking fleet.  We recently visited Excavation Pierre Daoust — a fast-growing excavation and aggregate supplier based in the Vaudreuil-Soulanges region of Quebec — to learn why they chose the Cat® 938 Small Wheel Loader and what they love about this versatile, high-performance machine.    ### Built to Perform: Why Excavation Pierre Daoust Choses the Cat 938?  For owner Chloé Rousseau, investing in high-performance equipment is about more than just productivity. It's about supporting her team with durable, operator-friendly, and reliable machines they can count on in demanding jobsite conditions. “It’s important for me to offer them an optimal work environment and to offer them a cutting-edge machine like the Cat 938” Chloé says.    “Michael is going to spend over 10 hours a day in that machine,” Chloé says. “So for me, it's important that he’s comfortable in it — less vibration and more comfort. Having such a high-performing wheel loader like this, I also think it will boost morale and motivation to come work with us.”    Chloé and her husband have been working in the field for over 15 years. They started with a single 12-wheeler and built up to a 50+ machine fleet and nearly 65 employees. And I know I can count on him at any time.”    ### What does an experienced operator thinks about the new Cat 938? For Michael, the operator of the 938, the difference was clear as soon as he got behind the controls.    “We’ve had the new 938 for about six months now,” he says. “A lot has changed from our old one, which makes production efficiency and operator comfort much better with this one.”     One standout feature for Michael is the[integrated onboard scale](https://www.toromontcat.com/service/cat-technology/payload-technology), which streamlines load management and improves material tracking.   “We can enter the customer’s name. We can enter the product name — it’s very easy to follow the material quantities going out,” he explains.     The new customizable joystick controls allow him to reset the scale or print tickets at the touch of a button. And when winter rolls in, the 938 doesn’t slow down.    “In winter, it’s incredible,” Michael says. “This year, a lot changed on the transmission with the new hydrostatic modes. It can push mountains of snow without slipping.”    Comfort-wise, the 938 delivers a superior operator experience.     “I've operated a lot of machines,” Michael says. “This is very comfortable. All the controls are close. Everything is adjustable — the joystick height, the steering, the air suspension.
